India's neighbor countries, Bhutan, Sikkim, Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar(Burma) and Sri Lanka Sikkim was an independent kingdom until 1975 when it became the 22nd state of India. It is located in the northeastern part of India and is known for its stunning Himalayan landscapes, including the Kanchenjunga, which is the third-highest mountain in the world. Sikkim is culturally diverse and is home to various ethnic groups, including the Bhutias, Lepchas, and Nepali-speaking communities.
